Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), a premier scientific research organization under the Government of India’s Ministry of Science & Technology, has released the official notification for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Recruitment 2026 under Advt No. E-I/RC/2026/2. A total of 100 vacancies have been announced across 3 post categories — ASO General (61), ASO Finance & Accounts (18), and ASO Stores & Purchase (21) — at various CSIR headquarters and laboratories across India.

Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from any recognized University in India
- Candidates must have passed their graduation before the application closing date
Special Eligibility Note:
- Non-recommended candidates of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 (CSE-2024) are also eligible to apply
- This means candidates who appeared in UPSC CSE 2024 but were not finally selected/recommended can apply through this channel
